This novella is set in the Twilight series between books 3 and 4. As you may have guessed, it follows Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire in Stephanie Meyer’s world filled with vampires and werewolves.
Bree Tanner likes to read and hides from the other newborn vampires the best she can, since most of them are just overpowered buffoons that cause nothing but trouble. However, on one hunt she meets an older newborn who is nice to her and seems to use his brain cells. But this isn’t a happily ever after story. There’s suspicion, mysterious capped figures, and unknown enemies that they haven’t encountered…or have they…
Now for those who haven’t read the Twillight series, there’s enough context for you to understand the storyline and still enjoy this novella. This could be a good introduction book to the series if you’re unsure about it, but beware, it will spoil some of the plots of previous books for you.
I had read all the Twillight’s books, but hadn’t gotten to this one yet. The story offers a cute little window into a different perspective of familiar characters, thus offering a fresh take on the story. You can find the audiobook on overdrive or the book here at the library.
