Kids

Come on down to the kids section! There’s lots to do and many toys to play with. Like at home, every kid cleans up after they are done.

During the course of the year, many programs are offered at the library, including, but not limited to, the following:

Minecraft: for ages 7 to 12.

Kids explore the blocky world of Minecraft together on 8 computers in our computer lab.

Knitting club: for ages 7 to 12.

Kids can learn how to knit with an experienced knitter.

Pyjama Storytime: for ages 4 to 7.

Kids can listen to stories and make a nice craft in their pajamas accompanied by their favourite stuffed animal.

Babies in the library: for ages 0 to 3.

Kids and their parents will enjoy this introduction to books, simple songs, rhymes, and finger plays that they can do at home.

Hackmatak reading club: for kids from 4th to 6th grade.

Kids will discover beautiful Canadian books and vote for their favourite one.

STEAM games: for children of all ages.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics, we have activities for all your interests.

Storytime: for ages 3 to 6.

An hour of fun with stories, songs, games, and a craft, for children and their parents.

Creativity workshop: for children of all ages.

Kids can listen to a beautiful story and make a themed craft.

Next Step, Kindergarten: for children who will beginning kindergarten the following September.

Help your child get ready for kindergarten by participating in this program. For five weeks, you will have fun exploring a variety of themes and learning through play: shapes and colours, letters, numbers, concepts and competencies, and free play.
